Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal and Company Secretary to join our team in London (hybrid working). This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while also providing administrative support to the company’s board of directors and executive team.

We are looking for an individual who currently possesses the following skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Legal Compliance: Ensure the company operates within legal guidelines and laws, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Corporate Governance: Support the board of directors in organising meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes. Ensure compliance with corporate governance principles and regulations.
- Shareholder Relations: Manage communication with shareholders, including handling queries, preparing reports, and organising shareholder meetings.
- Company Secretarial Duties: Maintain statutory books, including registers of members, directors, and shareholders. Ensure compliance with company law requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify legal risks and propose solutions to mitigate them. Develop and implement risk management strategies.
- Contract Management: Oversee contract administration processes, including negotiation, drafting, and execution of contracts.
- Intellectual Property: Manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution methods.
- Training and Education: Provide legal guidance and training to employees on relevant legal and compliance matters.
Qualification & Experience
- Degree in Law (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Legal Counsel or Company Secretary, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Previous work experience in financial organisation (desirable)
- In-depth knowledge of UK company law, compliance regulations, and governance principles.
- Exceptional level of accuracy/attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
- Expert user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & TEAMS
